My sister, Donna Jean Freberg, recently published her book of essays, “Love Is My Religion”. She asked me to shoot some pics of her for her book jacket and promotional materials and I was delighted to do so. Donna is a human sunflower, beautiful inside and out. Her writing is wonderfully human, poignant, authentic and funny. Reading her words is like pulling up a chair and having a nice cup of tea with an old and trusted friend. Congratulations, Donna on your new book!
All very beautiful Donavan. Wow. I think my favorites are (from the top down) #’s 3,4 and 5 – they really shout warmth, beauty, great love. Donna is so deeply beautiful and that shines through in your photos with additional warmth and brilliance. 6,7 & 8 are astounding with familial resemblances it’s surreal but wonderful. I love the lighting, overall presentation. Maestro of lights and shadows! I can see a great deal of care in each shot, as well as Donna being so very real, beautiful and wonderful all the way down on this page. (that last shot with the bird is absolutely amazing in for so many reasons).
I need to tell my mother there in So. Cal. now – to go to you for head shots!!
